Uniform Information

UNIFORMS: Clothes, shoes, accessories:

● Uniforms create unity among students and help to create a strong educational environment. They also help middle schoolers know what they are wearing everyday :).

● Students are expected to be in full uniform every day, all day, while on school property.

● The Northwest School uniform is plain navy blue pants or skirts (navy khaki, navy “Dickie” brand pants, navy slacks). No jeans or jean-like pants are allowed. Students should wear a plain white collared shirt with sleeves. This is for the safety of all students.

● Pants must fit appropriately. If a belt is needed, it must stay on.

● When it is cold out, students may wear navy blue cardigans or NWMS sweatshirts over their white polo shirts. Hooded sweatshirts are not allowed except on non uniform days.

● If students are wearing a shirt under their collared shirt, please make an effort for it to be white.

● Hats should be reserved for when students are outside before or after school.

● For safety reasons, students may not wear large earrings or other jewelry when they have gym.

● Similarly, gym shoes are required to participate in PE for safety reasons.

● We have had students trip and fall in the building and on stairs when they were wearing shoes without backs. For example: house shoes or flip flops. Students also find it hard to navigate the school in high heels. For these reasons, we would prefer students not wear these types of footwear.

● Recess will take place outside even when it is cold out. Please dress warmly during the winter months.

● There will be opportunities for students to be out of uniform. Please look for communication about these special days. When students earn all of the letters of ATTENDANCE for having high homeroom attendance they earn an out of uniform day. Also students can wear any Panther Pride shirts on Mondays with their uniform pants. The staff do too! Motivation Mondays happen every Monday.

Uniformes: Ropa, zapatos, accesorios:

● Es la expectativa que los estudiantes estén en uniforme completo todo el dia, diariamente, mientras en premises escolar.

● El uniforme de la escuela Northwest es el pantalón o falda escolar azul marino (material khaki, marca “Dickie” azul marino, pantalón o falda de vestir azul marino). Pantalones de mezclilla (jeans), o cualquier otro material que disimule estos no son permitidos. El estudiante debe usar camisa o blusa de cuello y botón blanca y con mangas, es decir, de vestir o polo. Esto es para la seguridad de todos los estudiantes.

● Los pantalones deben ser ajustados adecuadamente. Si se requiere el uso de una correa/cinto, este debe mantenerse puesto.

● El largo de la falda debe ser hast la rodilla.

● Cuando esté frío afuera, los estudiantes pueden usar suéter o cardigans azul marino encima de la camisa blanca. Sudaderas con gorro no están permitidos excepto en días no uniformes.

● Los estudiantes no pueden usar camisetas con tiras de espagueti.

● Cualquier camiseta/playera o artículo de ropa usado debajo de la camisa blanca escolar tiene que ser blanca.

● Los estudiantes no pueden usar gorras dentro del edificio.

● Perforaciones del cuerpo y la joyería no es permitido en el gimnasio por razones de seguridad. Todos los estudiantes podrán usar aretes/pantallas razonables fuera del gimnasio.

● Los zapatos de gimnasio/tenis son requeridos para participar en Educación Física. Por favor tome nota de los días de gimnasio y asegúrese de llevar puesto zapatos apropiados para esos días.

● Los sandalias del hogar, las chanclas/flip-flops o los zapatos con tacón no están permitidos mientras en la escuela.

● El recreo se llevará a cabo afuera hasta cuando esté un poco frío. Asegúrese de vestirse apropiadamente durante los meses de invierno.

● Habra oportunidades para que los estudiantes tengan dias fuera de uniforme. Favor de leer comunicaciones acerca de estos dias especiales. Por ejemplo: Incentivos de asistencia y "Lunes de Panther Pride"). Cabello/Pelo:

● Los estudiantes de Northwest no pueden tener diseños en la cabeza. Si usted tiene alguna pregunta debido al estilo de pelo, por favor comuníquese con un administrador. Los estudiantes que decidan no seguir estas reglas se les pedirá que se cambien el estilo de pelo.
